Indian tennis ace Rohan Bopanna and his French partner Edouard Roger-Vasselin will look to seal a spot in the semi-finals of the Barcelona Open when they play their last-eight clash of the men's doubles event here on Wednesday.
Yesterday, Bopanna and Vasselin made a strong start to their campaign at the Barcelona Open by knocking out the second seeds Henri Kontinen and John Peers from the tournament.
The unseeded pair registered a convincing 7-6, 6-3 win over Kontinen and Peers in a one-sided opening round encounter that lasted one hour and 20 minutes.
The Indo-French duo will now cross swords with the Colombian team of Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah in their quarter-final clash.
Bopanna and Vasselin had earlier got the better of the Colombian pair in the quarter-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters last week.
The Indo-French pair made it to the semi-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters, only to see themselves crash out of the tournament after narrowly losing to Australia's Oliver Marach and Croatia's Mate Pavic.
