Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi on Sunday confirmed that he would be meeting Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kerjiwal tomorrow, to discuss law and order situation in the national capital, in the wake of the gruesome murder of 19-year-old girl in central Delhi.

"I have not been issued any summons rather I have just received a circular from the Aam Aadmi Party's office in which Rajendra Kumar has said that- I am reading the last line- It is therefore requested that a time convenient to you on Monday that is 20th July, kindly be intimated at the earliest. I have accordingly told Rajendra Kumar that I can meet him at 4p.m,"said Bassi.

"He has also tentatively confirmed me that the meeting is on. It is the responsibility of the police to collaborate and work with the people of every class. For that we do not consider people belonging to any class, as separate from us. Now, because a request has been received from the Chief Minister's office by the Principal Secretary to me, so I will definitely go and the exchange of ideas will take place," he added.

Kejriwal yesterday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the brutal Anand Marg stabbing of a 19-year-old girl.

While expressing shock over the incident, he said the law and order situation in the national capital has deteriorated drastically in the recent past.

"Delhi Police is under the Centre. The Prime Minister should either act or transfer Delhi Police's command to the Delhi Government," he said.
