South African batsman Temba Bavuma believes that his maiden Test century against England will inspire the young players aspiring to represent the country.

Bavuma, who is by far the shortest batsman in the line-up, standing 162cm tall, used mere 141 balls to reach the three-figure mark, laced with 16 boundaries on the fourth day of the second Test against England.

Delighted by his achievement, Bavuma said that he felt special to be able to reach the milestone on his favourite ground, Sport24 reported.

The 25-year-old, who was fighting to achieve this milestone, admitted that there was a lot of satisfaction in getting that first hundred, adding that he was looking forward to continue with his form.

Bavuma said that he had a full support of his coach Russell Domingo and team mates, adding that he would try to contribute maximum to his side whenever the opportunity arises.

Earlier, skipper Hashim Amla smashed 201, while Bavuma made an unbeaten 102 as the Proteas declared their first innings on 627-7, just two short of the visitor's innings total.

England are currently leading the four-match Test series 1-0 following their 241-run win over the hosts in the opening match in Durban.
