The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has reportedly said that its website has been blocked across China.
While terming it an act of "deliberate censorship," BBC Global News Director Peter Horrocks said that the corporation will register a complaint with the authorities, reported the BBC.
Other news websites remained functional and the reason for the blockade remained unclear, the report said.
The BBC has faced blackouts in the past while reporting China stories. The Chinese-language news website of the corporation has been blocked largely since it was launched.
However, the BBC's English-language website has remained generally available since the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
The last time the website was blocked was during the corporation's coverage of activist Chen Guangcheng's escape from house arrest in April 2012.
