A British Columbia court judge has reportedly ordered the extradition of the mother and uncle of a slain Canadian woman, for allegedly plotting an honour killing.

Malkit Kaur Sidhu and Surjit Singh Badesha are accused of ordering the murder of Jaswinder Sidhu, 25, who had secretly married a rickshaw driver.

According to the BBC, on Friday, British Columbia Supreme Court Justice Gregory Fitch ordered the two to be extradited to India to faces charges there.

The duo was arrested in 2012 on charges of conspiracy to commit murder.

The family has, however, denied any involvement in the murder of the woman, who was killed in June 2000 on her visit to Punjab to reunite with her husband.

Meanwhile, several people have already been convicted of the killing in India, the report adds.
