Shashi Khanna, the wife of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) acting president CK Khanna, will contest the upcoming Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) elections.

Shashi,64, has filed her nomination for the post of vice-president and will contest on June 30.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Madan Lal will be vying for the post of president in the DDCA elections.

It will be a three-way battle for the president's post as noted journalist Rajat Sharma and Supreme Court advocate Vikas Singh will also fight against Lal.

After filing his nomination, Lal told ANI that he and his team would try their best to raise the standard of the DDCA and expressed confidence in winning the election.

"This is an administration of cricket only. I have played here for 20-25 years. Now, I have got a chance to come into administration. I believe our team is very good. Now, let's see what will be the outcome," he said.

Apart from being a national selector, Lal also has a considerable amount of administrative experience as he had previously also served as the head of the Cricket Advisory Committee of the DDCA.
