Shashank Manohar has vowed to clean the image of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and restore the dwindling 'faith of fans' after being elected as the president of the world's most powerful cricket board for a second time on Sunday.
"The first priority is to clean the image of this board and restore the faith of cricket loving fans," said Manohar, who succeeded the former ICC president Jagmohan Dalmiya, who passed away last month.
"BCCI is a huge brand in itself and created by the cricket loving population of the country. In last few days the confidence of cricket loving fans has shaken due to certain unpleasant things. But leaving them aside, it is now duty of all board members to build reputation of this board," he added after being elected to the top spot unopposed.
The 58-year-old insisted the board would appoint an Ombudsman or an ethics officer to tackle issues of conflict of interest involving administrators and players within a month's time.
In an attempt to develop women's cricket, Manohar stated the board would enter contracts with women cricketers. In addition, he promised the financial accountability in the state units.

"I assure that in two months time all the things about which I have spoken would be implemented in full force," he added with an aim to bring more transparency in the functioning of the organisation.
Manohar, who previously headed BCCI from 2008-2011, was elected at a special general body meeting of the BCCI at its headquarters in Mumbai.
The Indian cricket has been mired with controversies relating to spot-fixing scandal around the Indian Premier League.
