BCCL contributes Rs. 20 crore for flood-hit Uttarakhand

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), a government undertaking under the Ministry of Coal, has contributed Rs. 20 crore towards the relief and rehabilitation work in flood- ravaged Uttarakhand.

T K Lahiry, CMD, BCCL and S. Narsing Rao, Chairman, CIL today handed over the cheques to Minister of Coal Sriprakash Jaiswal for forwarding it to Prime Minister's Relief fund and Chief Minister's relief fund, Uttarakhand.

Moreover, Central Consultative Committee of BCCL comprising of all Trade Unions and BCCL Management representatives on July 2, 2013 have unanimously decided to contribute one day wages (Basic + DA) by all the employees of BCCL on roll as on date amounting to Rs.7 crore (approximately) in favour of "Prime Minister's national relief fund" for Uttarakhand.

 

Jaiswal has praised the concern displayed by BCCL, its employees, officers and trade unions for a worthy cause. BCCL after coming out of BIFR has shown improvement both in financial and physical parameters. It feels proud to be a part of all nation-building activities.
