Arvind Kejriwal, who was sworn in as the eighth Chief Minister of Delhi at the Ramlila Maidan here today, warned his party leaders and supporters against becoming arrogant in the wake of getting a resounding public mandate in the recently held assembly polls.
"When you attain such success and victory, then people tend to become arrogant. And, if ego is awakened, then everything is lost. We will have to be wary of it because, if we become egoistic, then we won't be able to complete our mission," said Kejriwal.
"I have been hearing on television that people are saying we will fight the elections here and there. I think that is not right. It shows ego. Why were the Congress and the BJP defeated? It was because of their arrogance," he added.
"Last year, we had 28 seats, but maybe somewhere we also became arrogant and decided to fight the Lok Sabha elections. We should learn from it now. The people of Delhi have trusted me. I will live in Delhi for five years and try to fulfill my responsibility with all my might," he further added.
The Aam Aadmi Party chief reiterated his government's promise of ending corruption in the city in the next five years.
"We will end corruption in five years. But I will announce this once again. If someone asks you for bribe, then don't refuse him. Just say yes and record the conversation. We will take strict action against any such person," said Kejriwal.
He once again thanked the people of Delhi for propelling his Aam Aadmi Party to an unprecedented victory, adding that he didn't know that people of Delhi loved him so much.

"Today, after one year, the AAP is forming the government again in Delhi. The only difference is that the last time we had four seats less. But this time, thanks to the people of Delhi and God, we are forming the government again," said Kejriwal.
"I knew people of Delhi love me, but I didn't know they love me so much. When the results came, it felt like it was raining seats for us. People of every religion, every caste gave votes. The poor and the rich voted for us. We got 67 seats out of 70. This can't be due to any one person's work, this is a miracle. We have to understand what God wants. God wants us to do something great," he added.
Earlier in the day, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal took oath as the eighth chief minister of Delhi. The 46-year-old is the youngest chief minister of the national capital.
