Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Pankaja Munde on Friday said that becoming the Chief Minister of Maharashtra will be an honour for her.
"I did not work to become the CM, rather I wanted the next CM of Maharashtra to be from BJP. However, if my name is being taken with regard to the post, it is an honour for me," Munde told ANI.
According to reports, Munde had earlier in the day stated that the youth of Maharashtra wanted her to become the next Chief Minister of the state. She also reportedly said that her late father Gopinath Munde's supporters were also pitching for her.
Gopinath Munde, who had earlier been seen as a front-runner for the Chief Minister's post, was killed in a road accident in June this year.
