Avril Lavigne has confessed that she thought "she was dying" when she was diagnosed with Lyme disease.
In a recent interview, the 30-year old singer said she believed that a tick bit her in spring 2014 and was diagnosed with the disease in October last year, after which she was bedridden for 5 months and spent time with her family, watching movies and talking to fans through social media, E! Online reported.
The 'Girlfriend' singer admitted that there were times when she didn't shower for a week, as she couldn't even stand properly and so her mother had to move in for a while to take care of her.
Lavigne's husband Chad Kroeger, 40, also met her during breaks from his tour with Nickelback.
The singer had also mentioned that she wasn't feeling good to a fan, after which she received many get-well soon messages and videos which touched her deeply.
The 'Rock and Roll' singer asserted that she felt 80 per cent better now and just wanted to enjoy her life, but there were times when she couldn't breathe, talk or move as well and had thought she was dying.
