Former England Test captain Sir Ian Botham has said that his latest 160-km charity walk in Sri Lanka will be his toughest to date.

According to the Daily Times, the eight-day walk, organised to raise funds for those affected by the 30-year ethnic war in Sri Lanka, will begin in the town of Killinochchi in the northern province of Sri Lanka on November 1 and is due to end at the south coast village of Seenigama.

Stating that the walk, dubbed as 'Beefy's Big Sri Lanka Walk', will be his most demanding and nothing like he has attempted before, Botham said that he is determined to make a success of it and knows that he can raise a lot of money to help the young population as he has a strong connection with the country.

The report further said that the walk would raise funds for projects supported by the Laureus Sports Foundation for Goodness, adding that Botham, will be joined on the walk each day by cricketers legends like Shane Warne, Michael Vaughan, Sourav Ganguly, Muttiah Muralitharan, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene.

Botham, who played a key role in the establishment of the Foundation for Goodness project, has been walking for charity since 1985 when he first pledged to raise millions of pounds to help people suffering from blood cancer.
