British actor Benedict Cumberbatch is engaged to theatre director Sophie Hunter.
The 38-year-old "Sherlock' star's parents announced the happy news in the marriages section of a London newspaper which said "The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London," News.com.au reported.
The couple, who had met while starring opposite each other in 2009's Burlesque Fairytales, had kept their relationship out of the spotlight, and was first publicly spotted together at 2014 French Open.
Cumberbatch, who'll soon be seen in WWII code-breaking drama 'The Imitation Game,' had recently revealed that he prefers women who could make a person feel smart with her conversation skills, has a sense of humour, and was good at working with others.
Meanwhile, with the much loved star off the market, some fans took to Twitter to share the cries of their broken hearts.
