Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the role of gay codebreaker Alan Turing during World War II in 'The Imitation Game', has said that he feels bad for prejudice and obstacles faced by gay leading men in Hollywood.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 38-year-old actor asserted that Turing was gay during a time when it was dangerous to be so and fell afoul of the U.K.'s then-laws, which made homosexual acts illegal.

The Brit actor continued that he would take up arms against someone who was telling him that he had to believe in what they believed or they would kill me adding that the actor would fight them to the death.

Cumberbatch added that being leading gay men in Hollywood was still a huge obstacle.
