Czech tennis star Tomas Berdych has reached the final of the Dubai Open for the second successive year on Friday following a semi-final victory over seventh-seeded German Philipp Kohlschreiber.
The world number six had not won an ATP Tour title for 16 months until he won at Rotterdam this month, but the 7-5, 7-5 victory over Kohlschreiber was his 16th win in 17 matches.
According to Sport24, Berdych was able to impose breaks of serve when it mattered most, at the end of each set, leaving his fluent but lighter-weight opponent with no chance to repair the damage.
Berdych will now face off with Swiss star Roger Federer, who stunned defending champion Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals on Friday, the report added.
