Berlusconi came close to selling Balotelli to 'unnamed' PL club ahead of WC

A.C. Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has reportedly revealed that he came close to selling Mario Balotelli to an unnamed Premier League club ahead of the World Cup, but declared that after the striker's performance in the tournament who would buy him anymore.

Balotelli has been heavily tipped for a Premier League return this summer and Arsenal are said to be among the frontrunners for the striker.

According to The Mirror, the former Manchester City striker is available to leave A.C. Milan despite the striker having spent only 18 months at the San Siro, during which time he scored 26 goals in 43 league games.

 

However, after a World Cup where he netted once in three matches as Italy suffered early elimination from the tournament, Berlusconi said that he would lose money on Balotelli.

Berlusconi said that other than Italy, he lost during the World Cup.

The A.C. Milan president said that he was about to sell Balotelli to an English team for several millions, but added that after this World Cup who would buy him anymore.
