Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) supremo Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday praised the country's progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said India's image had reached great heights on a global scale as the world expected 'India to guide it towards a great future'.
Making his annual 'Vijayadashami' speech here, Bhagwat said that the primary agenda now is about how to make India a leading nation in the world as 'expectations have risen' since Prime Minister Modi's government came into power.
"People are not as apprehensive as before as there is a sense of new hope now. India is reaching heights that it had not imagined at one point and our image has bettered worldwide. India helped Nepal and Maldives in times of disaster as we are expected to lead when there is a crisis. We are building good relations with other countries and keeping the interest of our country on the forefront," Bhagwat said addressing the swayamsevaks here.
This is the second consecutive year that Doordarshan is broadcasting the RSS chief's Dussehra speech live.
