Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said that a desperate Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has acquired the throne of power in Delhi, wants to expand its rule in all states of the country.
Taking a jibe at the election rallies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah in Bihar, he said the national capital has shifted from Delhi to Patna with all ministers making rounds of the state while ignoring other important works of national interest.
"As many as 300 districts of the country are facing drought-like situation, but the Central Government is more concerned about the chief ministerial chair in Bihar," said Nitish, adding that the saffron party just wants to expand its power and is hardly concerned about the nation.
The Bihar Chief Minister, who has been dubbed arrogant by the ruling BJP at the Centre on the special package issue, also took a dig at Prime Minister Modi's ambitious Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY).
"If the Centre could not manage to give Rs. 15-20 lakhs, they should have at least deposited Rs. 15-20 thousand so that the people have some sort of assurance that sooner or later they will get more," he said.
Highlighting the recent incident of sacking of Bihar's Urban and Excise Department Minister Awadhesh Kushwaha, Nitish also questioned the BJP's intention in fighting graft.
"The Bihar Government acted promptly and sacked its minister on the basis of a photograph showing him accepting Rs. 4 lakh, but what the BJP has done to its minister who had accepted Rs. 2 crore bribe, they made him a minister," said Nitish.
Nitish dubbed the BJP to be a 'Bharatiya Jumla Party'.
"It doesn't have a leader under whose leadership it can fight the elections in Bihar. The party is contesting under the leadership of the Prime Minister. It appears as if Prime Minister Modi will take over as the Chief Minister of Bihar if the BJP wins the polls," he added.
