Expressing strong disappointment to the approval of the Aam Aadmi Party's Jan Lokpal Bill, senior advocate Prashant Bhushan on Tuesday slammed the bill, saying it was 'biggest betrayal' to the anti corruption movement in the country.
"A Lokpal which will be appointed by the government, who can be removed by the government; whose investigation will be done by government agencies; to say that it is a strong Lokpal and an independent Lokpal is the most cruel joke that one can imagine," Bhushan told ANI here.
"These people think that just because they have a social media team and propaganda budget of 523 crores they can get away with any kind of lies. This is the biggest betrayal of the anti-corruption movement," he added.
Responding to AAP member Ashish Khetan's invitation of having a debate on Lokpal, Bhushan pointed out that Khetan had nothing to do with the Jan Lokpal Bill and that he was not there in the movement at all.
"What kind of a joke is this, tomorrow AAP and Arvind will say that come have a debate with my gatekeeper. Why doesn't Arvind come to the debate itself," he added.

Bhushan further said that the Kejriwal himself used to challenge Shiela Dixit to Narendra Modi for having a debate.
"We were there together in Jan Lokpal drafting committee along with Justice Santosh Hegde, Shanti Bhushan ji, Anna ji, Me and Arvind Kejriwal. If he is claiming it is the same Lokpal Bill which was drafted, why doesn't he come and debate himself," he said.
"Let him come and debate with me at any public place," he added.
Bhushan, has invited Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal for an open public debate on the Jan Lokpal Bill through advertisements released on the radio.
