Bhutan PM Tobgay praises PM Modi's leadership

Bhutan's Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, who met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the 18th SAARC Summit here on Wednesday, praised the latter's leadership skills.

"Now is time for South Asian integration - PM @tsheringtobgay welcomes PM @narendramodi's leadership role in SAARC," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) official spokesperson, Syed Akbaruddin tweeted about the meeting.

Tobgay had earlier tweeted about his meeting with Prime Minister Modi.

"First bilateral meeting today is with Indian PM Modi. A lot to discuss, especially how to take SAARC forward after his powerful speech today," Tobgay tweeted.

Diplomatic relations between India and Bhutan were established in 1968 with the appointment of a resident representative of India in Thimphu.
