The father of late Jules Bianchi has urged the world not to give up hope on the recovery of Formula One racer Michael Schumacher.

The 46-year-old German driver now weighs less than 45 Kg and he cannot walk or talk and has limited consciousness, Sport24 reported.

Philippe Bianchi admitted that Schumacher is the greatest champion that F1 could ever have, adding that the former Ferrari driver would fight as long as he is alive.

Philippe further said that Schumacher's family is showing the same strength as they had shown during his son's time, and expressed hope for his speedy recovery.

Earlier in July, Jules passed away after succumbing to brain injuries sustained in a crash at the Japanese Grand Prix last year.

Meanwhile, Schumacher, who has record seven Formula One titles and 91 race wins, was injured while skiing during a French Alps vacation, and has been going through his painfully slow recovery at his Swiss lakeside home.
