The father of late Formula One racer Jules Bianchi has insisted that he is determined to take legal action against the International Automobile Federation (FIA), saying that those responsible for his son's death 'must pay'.

Bianchi passed away in July after succumbing to brain injuries sustained in a crash at the Japanese Grand Prix last year. He had been in coma since crashing his Marussia car into a recovery vehicle in wet conditions at Suzuka.

The development came after the FIA's report essentially blamed the Frenchman for driving too fast.

Bianchi's father Philippe revealed that the conclusions had shocked him and questioned the people conducting the investigation for being the same people who were being investigated, News.com.au reported.

The death of Bianchi triggered a wave of sympathy for the family of the Formula One driver as many fellow drivers attended a moving funeral in his hometown of Nice. His car number 17 was subsequently retired from the sport in his honour.
