Around 200 huts were gutted in a massive fire which broke out on Tuesday night in a slum here, the district officials said.
Cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Alok Ranjan Ghosh, District Magistrate of Muzaffarpur said, "Around 200 huts were gutted in the fire as per our information. No injuries have been reported. Cause of fire being ascertained"
"Rescue-relief camps will be set up including the food facility for the victims. We will prepare a list of the affected people and provide them financial help under the disaster relief fund," he added.
Senior Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar said, "This is a place where it was difficult for fire tenders to reach. The administration acted swiftly. The cause of the fire is not clear.
