The Bihar Government today dispatched relief material for flood-hit Jammu and Kashmir as part of ongoing relief and rescue operations in the state.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat had earlier announced an aid of Rs.10 crores, while the Odisha Government announced financial aid of Rs.5 crores.

Apart from this, national carrier Air India has decided to provide free service to tourists trapped in the area. The Srinagar airport is still functional allowing rescued tourists to be transferred to safe places, majorly to Chandigarh and Delhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier this month announced a relief package of Rs.1000 crores in addition to the Rs.1100 crores already disbursed.
