Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that Bihar will be getting an extra package of 3,74,000 crores from the Finance Commission in the next five years.

"Paanch saal mein Finance Commission se 3 lakh 74,000 crore ka package Bihar ko milega, ye mere pehle package se alag hai. (In the next five years, Bihar will get an extra package of three lakhs 74,000 crores apart from the special package that I had announced)

The Prime Minister also used the stage of his fourth Parivartan rally in Bhagalpur to target Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying that the latter is giving account of only 2.7 lakh crores out the total amount that was allocated.

"Now Nitish Ji is only giving using Rs 2.7 lakh crore. So where is the Rs 1.6 lakh crore going. Will this go for 'chaara'," he said.

Ahead of PM Modi's addressal , Nitish launched a fresh salvo against him, asking to 'show moral courage and accept insufficiencies in delivering on old promises.

Modiji, stop the rhetoric's, chest thumping & everyday new promises. Show moral courage. Respect the sentiments of people of Bihar who have been troubled by your unkept promises & unsavoury comments," Nitish said in a series of tweets directed towards the Prime Minister.

"Show moral courage. Deliver your promise of Special Status to Bihar. Don't mislead with so-called package where 86 percent is repackaged old schemes. No new promises please. Outline a credible action plan to deliver on the promises you have made to the people till date," he said.
