Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi is scheduled to prove his majority in the Bihar Legislative Assembly on Friday.

The political future of the Manjhi government will be decided after Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi's address at the joint session of the state legislature in Patna.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has asked its 87 MLAs to vote in favour of Manjhi today while the JD(U), RJD, Congress and CPI have also issued a whip to its legislators to vote against the Manjhi government.

Meanwhile, heavy security has been deployed outside the Bihar Assembly.

The BJP had also staged a protest against Bihar Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Choudhary yesterday over his 'unethical and unconstitutional' move to declare the Janata Dal (United) as the main opposition party.

Janata Dal (United) leader Vijay Kumar Choudhary was reportedly made the Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly, replacing Yadav.

Earlier this week, Janata Dal (U) chief Sharad Yadav had suspended seven ministers loyal to Manjhi from the party, claiming that they hadn't followed the party's directive.

Manjhi, however, remains confident of gaining the vote of confidence in the assembly, ahead of the floor test today.
