Atleast 15 people have died in Uttar Pradesh and six in the national capital as the cold wave further intensified in several parts of the country even on Sunday.

Normal life was disrupted due to intense cold wave, dense fog and irregular rain.

Delhi continues to reel under intense cold wave conditions, leaving more than 11 people dead in the last 24 hours.

Earlier on Saturday, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia assured that the government will take necessary action to prevent this.

"We have called an enquiry and I have asked for a detailed report. The last incident that happened is very near to our night shelters," said Sisodia. "I have the prime facie information at this time and if there are deaths, the government has to take actions on this," he said.

Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government had promised night shelters for the homeless people a day after he was sworn into power it.

Delhi Cabinet Ministers Rakhi Birla and Manish Sisodia had undertaken an inspection of night shelters to address to this issue.
