Singapore's Foreign Minister K Shanmugam has disclosed bizarre consular requests that the citizens had asked from the government.
According to the BBC, peculiar requests made to the consular staff include diplomatic help to get a refund on illegal sexual services and to complain about fried chicken.
The report also suggests that other odd requests made to the consular staff consisted of a Singaporean man who had sought assistance to persuade his foreign girlfriend to expedite her divorce proceedings, so that he could marry her.
Shanmugam said that the consular officers go beyond their call of duty and help people but draw a line of difference between what is personal responsibility and what is not.
He further revealed in a Facebook post that the ministry handled more than 3,000 'weird' consular cases last year.
