The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday hit back at Digvijay Singh for targetting Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi following yesterday's multiple blasts in the temple town of Bodh Gaya, and advised the Congress General Secretary to get admitted in a 'mental asylum'.

"I will advice Congress Party and its leader Digvijay Singh to get admitted in a mental asylum. He has no idea. He has accused all such non-sensing in Batla House incident. People of UP have taught him a lesson. And I have nothing to say about a bankrupt person," said BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan.

Launching a frontal attack on Modi, Digvijay Singh earlier in the day tweeted: "Flip side of this. Amit Shah promises a Grand Temple at Ayodhya. Modi addresses Bihar BJP workers and asks them to teach Nitish a lesson."

"Next day Bomb Blasts at Mahabodhi Temple at Bodhgaya. Is there a connect? I don't know. ALLOW NIA TO COMPLETE INVESTIGATION PLEASE!" he added in his tweet.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has begun probing the serial blasts, which rocked the temple town of Bodh Gaya yesterday.

Two monks were injured in the nine low intensity blasts.

A five-member NIA team comprising a DIG and two SPs reached Bodh Gaya yesterday from New Delhi to start the probe.

Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami termed the blasts as terror attack.

Security agencies suspect that Indian Mujahideen may be behind yesterday's multiple blasts.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the blasts.

The Home Ministry has directed all states to ensure foolproof security at Buddhist shrines and Tibetan settlements.
