Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today challenged Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and the ruling Congress Party for a national debate on performance of the government.
Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement that he was proud of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government track record since 2004, BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu challenged the PM for a debate on the performance of the UPA government and the performance of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government-led by the BJP from 1998 to 2004.
"I would like to challenge the Prime Minister or his ministers and the Congress Party; are they willing for a national debate on the issue of performance of the NDA vs UPA," he told the media here.
He asserted that Indians were fed up of corruption scandals and a weak economy under the Congress government.
