Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh on Friday said his party wants to restore the derailed growth story of Bihar under the leadership of party president Amit Shah.

"Bihar is an important state for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), like others. It is our commitment to the people of Bihar, and under the leadership of Amit Shah, we are confident that the growth story will be back and the people of Bihar are definitely going to be benefitted," Singh told ANI.

"There was a growth story of Bihar along with JDU and BJP government when we were together. But, it was JDU, particularly Nitish Kumar for his petty vote bank politics, he stabbed the alliance and since then the entire growth story has been derailed. We wish to bring it back," he added.

BJP president Amit Shah is currently on a two-day visit to Bihar, his first since assuming office in July last year.

He is scheduled to meet party workers tomorrow with an aim to recruit 75 lakh members for the party by March 31.

A three-day membership drive will also be reportedly organised by the booth level workers next month.

The Assembly elections in Bihar are scheduled for later this year.
