Amid see-sawing reports of the Jammu and Kashmir government formation, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday maintained that the Centre was committed to the state and will continue working for the development of Kashmir.
"We have demonstrated that we can give good governance in J-K. We have worked for their development and will continue to do so. We are committed to the welfare of the state," BJP leader Zafar Islam told ANI.
Meanwhile, ending uncertainty over government formation in Jammu and Kashmir, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) confirmed that party chief Mehbooba Mufti would take over as the Chief Minister.
PDP spokesperson Mirza Mehboob Beg, however, refused to divulge the exact date of the swearing-in ceremony.
