The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday said it is ready for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections and added that it will not be bogged down or politically neutralized by the Janata Parivar merger.
The party also expressed confidence that the popular mandate shall lie with them, given the years of betrayal from the Congress and other parties in the state.
"The BJP has consolidated itself for the Bihar elections. The public is with us as they have faced betrayal from Congress and other parties. Farmers here know how the Congress for the past so many
years have been misleading people in the name of protest, how also JD(U) leaders have betrayed the people of Bihar. We will surely win all the constituencies this election," said state party chief Mangal Pandey.
"It does not matter whether the opposition fights as a merger or as an individual. The popular mandate shall lie with the BJP as it has always been the principle of the party to have proper dialogue with
the public and serve the society," added another party leader, Bhupender Yadav.
The 2015 assembly polls in Bihar slated late this year is quite heated up with six parties having merged under the Janata Parivar banner, the BJP in alliance with the Lokshakti Janata Party (LJP) and Upendra Kushwaha's Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP), expelled former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi exploring new options and the Congress as one of the oldest players in the state.
