BJP and Congress leaders today said violence cannot be accepted in any form in a democracy and called for punishment of the guilty

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nalin Kohli told ANI, "For many years it has been witnessed that RSS cadres are systematically targeted and even ruthlessly murdered in Kerala. This has to stop. Whether it is a Congress government or a Left- Front government, the guilty have to be punished. There cannot be any space for violence in a democracy."

Congress leader Rashid Alvi told ANI, "A proper investigation should be conducted in the killing of the RSS worker. There can be ideological differences, but such violence is not acceptable."

On Monday, an RSS leader was hacked to death and another seriously injured in an attack allegedly launched by a group of CPI-M activists in Kerala. This comes at a time when BJP president Amit Shah is visiting the state.
