BJP, CPI (M) clash: Eight arrested in Kerala

As many as eight Communist Party (Marxist) activists were arrested following a clash between CPI (M) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers near Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala on March 14.

Former Kerala BJP state President V. Muraleedharan was among the 16 persons injured in a clash between workers of the party and the CPI (M).

The clash occurred after stones were allegedly pelted at the processionists.

The 16 injured were treated at the Medical College Hospital.

The BJP had called for a 12-hour strike yesterday in the district protesting the attack on its workers by the CPI (M).
