The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today said that a delegation of party leaders will soon meet Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde to seek security for its leaders.

Party spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said the party is concerned about its leaders' safety owing to media reports of threats to them based on intelligence inputs.

"Media is reporting, based on IB sources, that there is a threat to all BJP leaders, we are anxious and want to know whether the Home Minister is taking any action," she said.

"Media reports based on IB sources suggest threats could lead to the kidnapping of BJP leaders. Our delegation will meet the Home Minister," she added.
