Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shahnawaz Hussain on Thursday said the meeting of non-Congress and non-BJP parties to form a third front is not going to have any effect on his party or Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Everyone knows that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in the hearts of people of this country. Therefore, whether they form a third front or fourth front, BJP or Modiji is least affected by it," Hussain told ANI here.

When asked whether the meeting of the leaders of regional parties is an attempt to stop a wave in favour of Prime Minister Modi, he said: "It is not 'Modi wave', it is 'Modi hurricane' that is prevalent today. Whether it is Congress, Samajwadi Party or third front, they have all tried to compete with Modiji during the Lok Sabha elections."

Earlier today, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh hosted a luncheon meeting for leaders from regional parties at his residence in New Delhi. The meeting, which was attended by JD (U) chief Sharad Yadav, former prime minister and JD (S) chief Deve Gowda, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi, former Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and several other leaders, is being seen as an attempt to stitch together a third front of non-Congress and non-BJP parties.
