BJP Member of Parliament and former Mumbai Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh on Monday said Pakistan Defence Minister Khwaja Mohammad Asif's anti-India statement was 'provocative' and not expected from a leader of his seniority.

"There are certain people who think of war. It is a very provocative statement and not expected from any country's senior person," Singh told ANI.

"India is not weak. If anyone attacks India, then, it has the courage and power to give a befitting reply. There is loss when both countries are at war. We think neither the people of India nor of Pakistan, want war," he added.

On Sunday, Asif warned India that it will suffer 'heavy losses' which it would 'remember for decades' if it tried to 'impose' a war on Pakistan.

"Pakistan's armed forces will defend every inch of their motherland at every cost," he added.
