In wake of the escalating cross-border attacks by Pakistan, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said it is very unfortunate that Islamabad is not willing to create an environment suitable for dialogue.
"The Government of India has given a free hand to its forces to deal with this matter. It is very unfortunate that Pakistan is not willing to create an environment suitable for dialogue," BJP spokesperson Siddharth Nath Singh told ANI here.
Meanwhile, another BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre has a firm resolve to tackle the ongoing ceasefire violations, and added that the Indian forces are giving a befitting reply to the Pakistani troops.
"During the last seven to eight years Pakistan was under the impression that they can violate ceasefire and fire at India at will. Now that the regime has changed, our forces are giving them a befitting reply. Our Home Minister and the Defence Minister have already made it clear that such actions on the border will not be tolerated," he said.
In Jammu and Kashmir, a woman was killed while twenty others including three BSF personnel were injured as Pakistani forces resorted to mortar shelling and firing along the entire International Border and some places on the Line of Control in Jammu region.
Meanwhile, India has decided to put on hold the proposal for a flag meeting at the Commander-level along the border in Jammu and Kashmir.
