Disgruntled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers greeted party nominee for the Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat Kirron Kher with black flags when she arrived here on Tuesday.
Kher reached Chandigarh by an afternoon flight, and was shown black flags at at least at two places, media reports said. She also faced bouts of sloganeering.
The BJP brass in the city has accused the central party leadership of ignoring three frontrunners, including former MP Satya Pal Jain, Chandigarh BJP President Sanjay Tandon and former Union Minister Harmohan Dhawan in favour of Kher.
Kher's candidature has resulted in a revolt of sorts within the Chandigarh unit of the BJP. Some office-bearers have reportedly resigned.
Polls in Chandigarh will be held on April 10.
Kher will be pitted against former Railway Minister and Congress leader Pawan Kumar Bansal.
