After siphoning the power in Uttarakhand Assembly, the Congress on Wednesday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should learn a lesson and not commit such a blunder again.

Congress leader Rajeev Shukla told ANI, "The Supreme Court had to take a final view on the results of Uttarakhand floor test and whatever the Central government had done with Uttarakhand they had to withdraw it."

"The Centre had committed a mistake, falconry, a blunder by imposing president rule there, by toppling the elected government there that was totally unfair. It was a bad attempt which they made.

Finally they had to eat the humble pie and I think in future the Central government would not repeat it mistake in another state," he added.

Meanwhile, the BJP said that it has faced many hurdles and this was a very small issue for them.

"The BJP has seen so many ups and down, how can anyone say that it is a setback for us, it a small matter for us," said BJP leader Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi told the apex court that the Centre is revoking the President's Rule from the hill state as it has been proved that former chief minister Harish Rawat has got the majority on the floor of House.

Celebrations broke out at the Congress office in Uttarakhand as the party workers were seen congratulating each other and exchanging sweets.

The Congress won by a margin of 33-28 in the floor test yesterday.

The AG told the apex court that they are likely to complete proceedings to revoke President's rule in Uttarakhand today and the matter will be taken up day after tomorrow for placing the record.

The Harish Rawat-led Congress government sought a vote of confidence in the assembly yesterday following an apex court order.

With nine Congress rebels barred from voting, the strength of the 71-member assembly was 62. Sources said 28 MLAs voted for the BJP.
