Several BJP leaders have voiced their approval of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's refusal to have his life story included as part of the school curriculum in some states. Modi had sent out tweets this morning saying he was against including the life story of living individuals in school curriculum. The tweets came after reports that BJP ruled states like Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat were planning to include the newly appointed PM's life story in school lessons.

Gujarat Education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said that the idea had been put into cold storage following the PM's disapproval. "Narendra Modi ji has been working for state development since 1970 and has run the government of Gujarat successfully. He has become the role model of Gujarat. We wanted a great man like Modiji's life to be part of syllabus, but he refused, so the state government has dropped the idea."

Siddharth Nath Singh of the BJP also praised the PM's humility in declining to be a part of school curriculum. He said, "Narendra Modi speaks about the leaders who have contributed for history. This decision speaks about his humility and respect for senior leaders."

Madhya Pradesh Education Minister Deepak Joshi said that the MP government was mulling over this idea but after the PM's refusal, the idea won't be discussed further. "Children would have learnt from Modi's life and struggle but the PM desired to not be included, so we respect his decision."

While historians have also welcomed the PM's decision, leaders of other parties have blamed sycophancy amongst BJP leaders for the idea to include Narendra Modi's life story in school lessons. Tariq Anwar of the NCP said, "The decision to include Modi in school lessons is all sycophancy, it's good that he refused.
