The Congress on Monday took a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over Navjot Singh Sidhu's resignation from the Rajya Sabha and said the saffron party leaders are not happy under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala sought an explanation from the BJP top on the growing dissent within the party.

"Navjot Singh Sidhu on whose name the Bharatiya Janata Party used to make huge claims has left the party under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP must answer as to why the people have started showing dissent," said Surjewala.

According to reports, Sidhu, who resigned from the Rajya Sabha yesterday, might join the AAP in Punjab.

The former cricketer, who was thrice the Lok Sabha member from the BJP, was asked to step away from contesting the polls in Amritsar during the 2014 general election to make way for fellow party member Arun Jaitley.
