Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday described the recent unsavory outburst of BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu as an internal matter' of the BJP.
Interacting with media on the sidelines of a rally that he was addressing at Ram Diwali in the Majitha Assembly constituency, Badal said: "See, as far as Sidhu's matter is concerned, it is an internal matter of the BJP. I do not want to comment."
BJP president Rajnath Singh is reported to have asked Sidhu to keep silent and to refrain from criticising the state government for its alleged disinterest in clearing Amritsar-linked development projects.
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal have refused to meet Sidhu.
Sidhu has continued with his tirade, and threatened to sit on 'fast unto death'.
Sidhu is also continuously speaking to select media to air his grievances.
Chief Minister Badal is said to be peeved over the way Sidhu has attacked his government, and described the former cricketer's allegations as baseless and untrue.
