Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday played down the possible absence of top party leaders at Narendra Modi's rally here on September 29.

"Modi will be holding large-scale rallies and meetings across the country. It is not required that every leader (of the party) joins him at every event," Naqvi said.

"These events have been organised so that different leaders are present at different events, with him. There is nothing novel in it. This is not different from how this was planned," he added.

BJP President Rajnath Singh, senior leaders L.K. Advani and Sushma Swaraj have decided to skip Modi's rally in Delhi.

The BJP is leaving no stone unturned for preparations for Modi's rally at the Japanese Park in New Delhi on September 29, which is expected to see a capacity audience of four lakh people.

According to reports, 18 panels and approximately 2,000 volunteers are involved to put together the high-security event.
