Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Thursday said that surgical strike carried out by the Indian Army should not be politicized by any party and doing so will depict the political instability of that party.
"Chest thumping should be done by the army. The Indian Army did this type work even when our government was in power. Army doesn't belong to any party. Army belongs to India and their work is to protect the border of the country. So, no political party has the right to politicize the Indian army. If somebody does, it means that suffer from political instability," Azad said.
Azad Further commented on Rahul Gandhi's Kisan Yatra in Uttar Pradesh, and said that it has been able to attract the attention of entire nation and even the government towards the challenges faced by the farmers of the state and added that the Yatra was a very successful event.
Earlier today, posters were seen across streets of Uttar Pradesh, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for surgical strike carried out by the Indian Army that was conducted on September 29.
In Varanasi, Prime Minister Modi's parliamentary constituency, BJP ally Shiv Sena has put up posters featuring Prime Minister Modi as Lord Ram and Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as the 10-headed demon king Ravan with a slogan "Another surgical strike is needed".
