Commenting on the possibility of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) forming a government in Delhi, BJP Delhi President Satish Upadyay today said that the BJP is ready for fresh elections even if they are held tomorrow.

He said that the people of Delhi will vote for the BJP in the same way that they did during Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking to ANI, Upadhyay said, "We don't have any problem with the elections, the party is ready even if the polls are held tomorrow. We are confident that people of Delhi will give us the majority in the same way that they gave us the mandate in all seven seats during Lok Sabha polls."

He also said, "BJP will form a government only when we get an official invite to form the government. We have been hearing from the media that the governor is going to ask us to form the government, but we haven't received any official communication from the governor."

"Through the media have been hearing that some leaders are willing to support us but we have not received any such claims," he added.

Delhi has been under the President's rule since February 17 this year after Arvind Kejriwal resigned as the Chief Minister in protest against the Lieutenant Governor's refusal to allow the introduction of the 'Janlokpal Bill' in the Assembly.
