The Congress on Friday said the Bengaluru National Executive session of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would be a brainwashing session to convince most members into feeling that the Land Acquisition Bill is pro-corporate.

"The Bangalore session of the BJP National Executive is a brainwash session because the MPs and the members/leaders of the executive who come from the farmers area, the rural belt, they very strongly feel that this policy of the BJP Government on farmers are pro-corporate," said Congress leader, P.C. Chacko.

"This opinion is coming again and again in the committee and as we hear/read from the report that they are arranging a power point presentation to convince or brainwash the National Executive members," he added.

He further said this showed where the government is.

"A few leaders in the leadership want this to be implemented against the farmer's wish and interest for the sake of a handful of corporates," he added.

Congress spokesperson Meem Afzal said, "There was nothing in the last bill. We will still say the same thing that the earlier passed should be implemented."

The two-day Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Executive meeting that began in Bengaluru today have Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and senior leaders LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi in attendance.

The party said the meeting holds significance as the BJP has emerged as the largest political party in the world.

"BJP National Executive holds great significance as BJP emerged as largest party, the Prime Minister congratulated Amit Shahji and party workers. The Prime Minister said this strength has to be used not just for building up the party, but for nation building activities like Swachhta Abhiyan," said party spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao.

Resolutions on political, social, economic and foreign affairs will be taken-up for discussion in the meeting.

Later in the evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also address a public rally.
