Minister of State for Power Piyush Goyal and BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra on Friday condemned former NDA minister Arun Shourie's remarks about the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government.
"If some individuals probably have some grouse, they don't get some positions, and want to make issues out of non issues, I think they are best to left to judge whether they are saying the right thing. This government has shown that with sincerity of purpose and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India is on the right path to growth," Goyal told ANI.
"Many fair weather friends want to gatecrash a party during good days and turn hostile when that doesn't succeed," said BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra.
Shourie had earlier in the day attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his poor handling of the economy, saying the government was talking big on economic matters but nothing was happening on the ground.
He also accused him of ignoring the attacks on minorities and their institutions by the right-wing groups.
Shourie also blasted the 'trimurti' (trinity) of Prime Minister Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, saying it had "offended the opposition as well as frightened the members of the party".
