BJP targets Congress for not cooperating on passage of important legislations in Parliament

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday criticised the Congress for derailing the passing of key legislations in Parliament.

It said that the Congress Party's attempt to prevent the passage of the Bill on Black Money in the Lower House only reflected the opposition's desire not to allow the government to recover the

assets stashed away in foreign accounts abroad.

"We only hope and urge that sense prevails in the Congress Party and important legislations like the GST, which has already been passed in the Lok Sabha; the Black Money Bill; all these bills; will get passed immediately. Particularly, the Black Money Bill, because, if there is any attempt by the Congress Party to disrupt Parliament, it will be seen as an attempt to somehow prevent both the GST and the Black Money Bill from getting passed during this session," BJP spokesperson G.V.L. Narasimha Rao told ANI.

"It would be seen that the Congress Party is not keen that the government should recover the foreign assets of people who have illegally bought assets abroad. The Congress will have a lot of explaining to do because people only entertain a lot of apprehensions about the Congress Party's leadership and the kind of corruption they have done during their tenure," he added.

The NDA Government had in March introduced 'The Undisclosed Foreign Income and Assets (Imposition of Tax) Bill, 2015' which provides for heavy penalty and stiff punishment of up to ten years for the stashing of unaccounted funds abroad.
